BALTIC CHAIN RUN 2009
The Baltic Chain Run 2009 is initiated by the citizens, an idea from the motorcyclists to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Chain on 22nd of August with a collective ride and to support the proposal of the European Parliament.
On 22nd of August at 9 a.m. the motorcyclists will gather together to Toompea Hill in Tallinn. The opening ceremonies will take place and several Estonian top politicians will take the floor.
At 9.45 a.m. the leading motorcade which includes representatives of different Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian bike clubs will start the run. Mrs. Ene Ergma, President of the Estonian Parliament, will hand over the Estonian flag from Tall Herman tower to the leading motorcade to crown the ride.
After the dispatch of the leading motorcade, the road will be open for all participants. At the same time Lithuanian motorcyclists will start the run from Vilnius, Gediminas square. Latvian motorcyclists will join them at border checkpoints and the run will be continued together to Sigulda.
A big meeting place will be prepared at the joining point in Sigulda: a tent camp, guarded bike parking, catering, and a concert area including everything else necessary for holding the event.
The Baltic Chain Run 2009 will finish with an outstanding rock concert where artists from all three countries will perform. The flags of the three countries will be pulled up on stage and a joined singing will take place.
Participants have to abide by all laws of the Republic of Estonia and Latvia, highway codes and the safe movement of road traffic requirements. Organiser doesn’t take the consequences of the damages which have made in the attempt.
